Rajendra Bhagwat s a Mumbai, India-based entrepreneur and professional with gravitas. A science graduate from Mumbai University, he also holds a masters in digital advertising from New York and Chicago conducted by the World Association of Newspapers headquartered in Germany.

Having associated with the world of advertising and marketing, Bhagwat moved on to the world of manufacturing premium textiles as a founder and managing director. Here, his advertising background stood him in good stead, with his brands under Statford Textile Specialties Ltd quickly achieving market success globally.

All good things end only for great things to begin. From advertising to textiles, and then onto print media. He is currently publisher and group CEO of the Saamana group of newspapers in Mumbai, owned by the Bal Thackeray family. As always, here too, he has been a gamechanger and a brand enhancer, borne out by Saamana's rapid growth which has made it a towering entity in Indian media for the past two-and-a-half decades. It has morphed from being a regional newspaper to one of the world’s highly discussed newspapers. The flagship publication has relentlessly advocated a policy of zero tolerance to injustice towards the masses and has therefore stayed relevant across generations.
